Ingredients:
- 8 oz 225g high-quality dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup 120ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp 30g unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or crushed nuts for coating
Instructions:
Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium-low heat until it begins to simmer
Do not boil
Pour the hot cream mixture over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute to melt the chocolate
Stir the mixture until smooth and well combined, then add the vanilla extract and mix again
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until it becomes firm enough to handle
Using a spoon or a melon baller, scoop out small portions of the chocolate mixture and roll them into balls with your hands
Roll each chocolate truffle in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or crushed nuts to coat evenly
Place the coated truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set
Once set, transfer the chocolate truffles to a gift box or package them in a decorative container
